It gives me great pleasure to announce the merger of the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The new department, which will be named the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, will reside in the College of Engineering.

Words of Welcome: Intercultural Leadership Symposium
On October 30th, the Provost welcomed the participants in a symposium in which 50 undergraduate students came together to create an "Intercultural Leadership Toolkit for the Information Age." The symposium was hosted by the School of Information Sciences and held in conjunction with the University of Puerto Rico's Escuela Graduada de Ciencias y Tecnologías de la Información.
