Arts and Sciences Dean Search Committee Appointed
University of Tennessee, Knoxville Provost Susan Martin has appointed a search committee to help find a new dean for the College of Arts and Sciences.

Harry McSween Named Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences
Harry "Hap" McSween has agreed to serve as interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, effective Jan. 1, 2011.
New Online Faculty Annual Performance Review System
Beginning Monday, September 20, 2010, a new online system for annual performance reviews of faculty will be available for departments and colleges to utilize as beta testers.

Proposals are now being accepted for freshman seminar courses to be offered in the First Year Studies program.

The annual retreat for academic Deans, Directors, and Department Heads, scheduled for October 3 and 4, is approaching quickly. This year, we have developed a site to house all retreat information, including the agenda, pre-readings, and link to our online RSVP page. Please note that the deadline to RSVP is this Friday, September 17.
Banner Information System
Starting with registration for spring 2011 classes on Thursday, Sept. 30, many UT Knoxville faculty and staff will begin to use the new Banner Self Service student information system.

Governor's Chair Appointments to Date
To date nine appointments of Governor's Chair positions have been made between the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, eight at UT Knoxville and one at the Health Science Center in Memphis.

Textbook Ordering Deadline
